New Year, New Do! Our New Year’s resolutions for keeping your curls healthy!
After the excitement of party season, holidays, New Year’s festivities and everything in between, we know that you and your hair are in need of some much needed rest. At Hairflair, our resolutions this year are all about keeping our hair healthy and in top condition. Here are our tips to help you along your way to luscious locks…
Tip 1: To kick off your hair detox programme, why not try creating a deep-conditioning hair mask using ingredients like coconut oil, lemon, Moroccan oil or banana? Leave the mask on your hair for as long as possible, making sure all of those hair-happy ingredients have time to soak in and work their magic. After rinsing clean, enjoy your restored, shiny and healthy hair!
Tip 2: Keep the hair detox going and take it to the next level with a week-heat-free challenge! Heat damage is one of the biggest factors leading to hair breakage and poor condition so why not try going a full week without using any heat on your hair? But don’t panic! This doesn’t mean you need to give up styling at the same time. With Curlformers, you can create perfectly styled, healthy curls with no heat damage. Alternatively, go natural and let your hair free!
Tip 3: Did you know that you only need to wash your hair around 2-3 times per week? Over-washing can lead to dry, weak or coarse hair. When washing your hair, ensure the water isn’t too hot and that you’re only applying shampoo to the roots instead of the ends. Your hair’s natural oils are needed to keep it in optimal condition!
Tip 4: If your hair is curly or thick, we have one word for you… conditioner!! Conditioner is vital for maintaining healthy, happy hair. While it’s easier to apply in the shower and rinse straight away, the best option is to use a leave-in conditioner once a week and let it soak into the hair for optimal hydration. For an extra hydration boost, wear the Softhood on top of your conditioning treatment to lock in moisture.
Tip 5: To round out your week of healthy hair, why not book in at the hairdresser to have those dead ends trimmed off and start the New Year with a new do?! Having a regular trim is not only healthy for your hair, but also means you’ll never be stuck with the same style for too long!
